Classes
Weekly Wednesday night classes in Cowaramup plus specialty workshops on weekends.
LINDY & SWING
We teach Lindy Hop, a type of swing dance originating in Black African American in the 1920s. Danced to swing and jazz, it’s the foundation for styles like rock’n’roll, R&B, hip hop, and more.
We also teach special workshops and classes for Blues, Balboa, Solo Jazz, and Aerials (yes aerials!).
Wednesday Classes
LEVEL 2
At Level 2 we expand on the fundamentals working on fun moves, technique, styling, musicality and expression. During these classes, we may learn choreographed routines, practice drills to improve your craft, work on move variations, and more.
LEVEL 1
Taught in 10-week blocks, Level 1 will take you through the fundamentals of Lindy Hop: 6-count basics, 8-count basics, and Charleston. At the end, students can graduate to Level 2. No partner or experience needed - we rotate.
For absolute beginners and dancers who want to refine basics
For experienced dancers and level 1 graduates
A free social for all students between classes. Stay after Level 1 to ask questions and get to know the community or come early for Level 2.
This is our chance to practice class material, routines (like the Shim Sham), and catch up on the week with community friends.

South West Swing acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet and dance, Wardandi boodja. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
