Terms & Conditions

All attendees at South West Swing activities (classes, workshops, events, and festivals) are accepted subject to these Terms & Conditions, and by attending, you agree to be bound by them. Lindy Hop is a physically demanding dance, so we advise participants to consider their health and fitness level, including any pre-existing conditions or injuries, before joining our activities. If you have any doubts, we recommend seeking medical advice before registering. South West Swing and their instructors cannot be held responsible for any claims, losses, or damages that may arise from your participation in our events.

Code of Conduct

All attendees at all classes and events are required to adhere to South West Swing's Code of Conduct.

Age

All attendees must be 16 or older. Our classes are tailored for adults, with a pace and structure designed to meet learning needs that differ to those of children.

Health & Safety

Please join classes and events only if you’re feeling well. Lindy Hop is a social dance where we regularly change partners, so staying home if you’re unwell is the most considerate choice.

Good personal hygiene is essential—wash your hands, use hand sanitiser, and take care of yourself and others.

For safety and comfort, shoes are required at all classes and events.

Dancing is an aerobic activity, and participants engage at their own risk, acknowledging that any injury or loss is their responsibility, as the organizers cannot be held liable in any circumstance. The organizers and teachers will do their best to ensure safety. Please inform teachers or organizers of any illnesses or injuries before the activity begins.

Photography, Filming, and Social Media

During classes and events, we may record videos and take photos for use in newsletters and on social media. By attending South West Swing activities, you agree to be filmed, photographed, or otherwise captured for the organizers’ promotional purposes. All recordings—whether photos, videos, or digital media—may be used at any time, in any format, and in perpetuity. If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please let us know.

We encourage guests to share their positive dance experiences on social media! Feel free to snap photos or record short clips of yourself or others having fun and post them online. Don’t forget to credit any applicable photographers in your post if using their content.

South West Swing acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet and dance, Wardandi boodja. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
